HARTFORD, Conn. - Villanova University junior forward Laura Kurz has been named to the All-Big East Conference second team. Kurz received her award at the Big East Tournament banquet held on Friday, March 7 at the Hartford Hilton Hotel.

Kurz started 27 of 29 games this season and led the Wildcats in scoring (14.9 ppg.), rebounding (6.2 rpg.), field goal percentage (49.6%) and three-point field goal percentage (44.1%). She netted double figures in points in 21 of the 29 games, including nine games of 20 points or more. In a 72-59 win over Providence on Feb. 12, Kurz became the 16th player in Villanova women's basketball history to record a 30 point game when she tallied a career-high 33 points.

The Wildcats begin play in the Big East Tournament on Saturday, March 8 when they play the University of Pittsburgh at noon. With a win, Villanova will advance to Sunday's quarterfinal round against Notre Dame.
