Villanova Earns No. 6 Seed in Big East Tournament

HARTFORD, CONN.-- The Villanova Wildcats will be the No. 6 seed in next weekend's Big East Women's Basketball Tournament to be held at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn. Villanova finished tied for sixth in the final regular season standings with DePaul and South Florida. All three teams had identical 9-7 records. Due to the tie breaker where the Wildcats were 2-0 versus the Blue Demons and Bulls, Villanova earns the No. 6 seed.

Villanova receives a first round bye and will play in the second round at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 9. The Wildcats will face the winner of the Georgetown/Providence game.

The Wildcats are 30-26 all-time in the Big East Tournament. Villanova has captured the tournament title on three occasions, including 1986, 1987 and 2003.
