Wildcats Travel to Cincinnati to Face Xavier for Saturday Road Game

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio on Saturday, March 1, to take on the Xavier Musketeers. Tip-off is set for noon at the Cintas Center. The Wildcats enter play 20-7 overall and 10-6 in Big East play, while Xavier is 8-20 overall and 3-13 in conference action.

Saturday will be just the third all-time meeting between Villanova and Xavier. The first meeting came on March 21, 2006, when the Wildcats defeated the Musketeers by a score of 59-47 in the second round of the WNIT. Earlier this year, Villanova earned a 61-32 home win over the Musketeers. Xavier is in its first year as a member of the Big East Conference.

Wildcats Cruise to 61-32 Win Over Xavier
Villanova made 10 three-point field goals and held visiting Xavier to 24.6 percent shooting en route to a 61-32 victory. With the win, Villanova improves to 14-5 overall and 4-4 in Big East play, while Xavier falls to 8-12 on the year and 3-5 in conference action.

Villanova will play its final regular season road contest of the season on Saturday at Xavier. The Wildcats are currently 10-3 in road games this season. The 10 road wins are the most by any Big East Conference school.

The Wildcats finished the February portion of the schedule with a 5-2 record. The February winning percentage of .714 ranks as the second best month of the year for the team. Villanova was 6-0 in November, 4-2 in December (.667) and 5-3 in January (.625). Villanova is led in scoring by senior guard Devon Kane who is averaging 11.9 points per game, while sophomore guard Caroline Coyer is second with a 10.3 points per game average. Kane also leads the team in assists with 113, while junior forward Taylor Holeman owns a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game average.
