Villanova Hosts St. John's for Wednesday Night Matchup

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will host St. John's in a Big East Conference battle on Wednesday, Feb. 27. The Wildcats enter play with an 18-8 overall record and a 7-6 mark in Big East play, while the Red Storm is 15-10 overall and 9-4 in league action. St. John's has won five in a row. Tip-off at The Pavilion is set for 2 p.m.

The game between Villanova and St. John's will be the 53rd all-time meeting between the schools. Villanova, who leads the all-time series by a 31-21 count, has won 22 of the last 28 against the Red Storm. St. John's has had the upper hand of late winning the last three against Villanova. The Red Storm won last year's game in New York by a score of 69-49.

Wildcats Fall at No. 20 St. John's
Lindsay Kimmel scored 11 and Emily Leer 10 to lead Villanova who fell to No. 20 St. John's 69-49 in a Big East game Saturday.

After beginning the year 7-0 at home, Villanova has lost three straight games at The Pavilion to fall to 7-3 in home contests. The three consecutive losses have come against No. 2 Notre Dame (59-52), Marquette (60-56) and No. 12 Louisville (55-49).

The Wildcats are led by senior forward Laura Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (13.2 ppg.), rebounding (6.7 rpg.), field goal percentage (.520), steals (63) and blocks (48). Rachel Roberts ranks second in scoring at 10.4 points per game.
