Beisel Earns Big East Honors

PHILADELPHIA - Villanova senior forward Jenn Beisel has been named Big East women's basketball Player of the Week for her efforts in two games last week. The Philadelphia, Pa., native receives the award for the first time, after averaging 21.5 points per game, 6.0 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists per contest in wins over Georgetown and Providence.
In addition, Beisel shot 18-for-28 (64.2%) from the floor in the two games.
Against Georgetown on Feb. 11, she went six-of-14 from the floor, scored a game-high 18 points, grabbed six rebounds, handed out six assists and tallied two steals.
In Villanova's 76-64 win over Providence on Feb. 14, Beisel scored a game-best 25 points on 12-of-14 shooting, to go with her six rebounds, five assists and one steal.
For the season, Beisel is leading the 18-6 Villanova Wildcats in scoring and rebounding with respective averages of 13.9 and 5.3. She is also second on the team in steals with 44 and assists with 55.
