Wildcats Head to Nation's Capital to Take on Hoyas Saturday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova travels to Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Feb. 16, to take on the Georgetown Hoyas. The Wildcats enter play with a 17-7 overall record and a 6-5 mark in Big East play, while Georgetown is 13-11 overall and 4-7 in league action. Tip-off at McDonough Arena is set for 2 p.m.
When Villanova and Georgetown have met in recent years, the home team has had the upper hand in the match-up. The home team has won eight of the 11 games the two teams have played. Saturday's meeting will be the 52nd all-time meeting between the schools. Villanova leads the series by a 32-19 count.
Three Wildcats will be returning to the area where they grew up when Villanova plays at Georgetown on Saturday. Sophomore forward Lauren Burford is from Fairfax, Va., while twin sisters Caroline and Katherine Coyer are from Oakton, Va. Burford ranks fifth on the team in scoring at 5.8 points per game and she is second on the team in three-point field goals with 36. Caroline Coyer is currently out with a broken hand, while Katherine Coyer has played in the last six games after coming out of redshirt to replace her sister on the active roster.
The Wildcats are led by Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (13.3 ppg.), rebounding (6.7 rpg.), field goal percentage (.530), steals (57) and blocks (45). Rachel Roberts ranks second in scoring at 10.6 points per game.
