VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will look to extend its six-game winning streak on Saturday afternoon when the Wildcats travel to St. John's to take on the Red Storm. Tip-off at Carnesecca Arena is set for noon. The game will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network. Villanova enters play 19-5 overall and 9-4 in Big East play, while St. John's is 18-5 overall and 11-1 in conference action.
Saturday's game between Villanova and St. John's will be the 55th all-time meeting between the schools. Villanova, who leads the all-time series by a 31-23 count, has won 22 of the last 30 against the Red Storm. St. John's has had the upper hand of late winning the last five against the Wildcats, including a 59-52 decision earlier this season.
With a win over the Red Storm, Villanova will register its second straight 20-win season and the 16th, 20-win campaign in head coach Harry Perretta's career.
Villanova enters play on Saturday at St. John's with a 10-2 record in road games. The 10 wins are the most road victories by any Big East team. St. John's is second in the league with seven road wins. Including neutral site games, Villanova is 13-2 in games played away from home.
The Wildcats are led in scoring by senior guard Devon Kane who is averaging 12.0 points per game, while sophomore guard Caroline Coyer is second with a 10.9 points per game average. Kane also leads the team in assists with 98 and steals with 27, while junior forward Taylor Holeman owns a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game average.
