VILLANOVA, Pa. - Tonight the Villanova women's basketball team will host No. 15 Georgetown at 7:00 p.m. Tonight's game will be part of the WBCA (Women`s Basketball Coaches Association) Play4Kay initiative to raise awareness for breast cancer. The Play4Kay name is in memory of North Carolina State coaching legend Kay Yow who passed away in 2009 after a long battle with breast cancer. Each school across the country chooses a February game as part of the Play4Kay initiative. In recognition of Play4Kay, Villanova players will wear pink shoes and pink shooting shirts, while the Villanova coaches and support staff will wear pink coaching shirts.
Help the Wildcats "Pink Out" the Pavilion by wearing pink to the game.
Villanova dropped two games last week and is 15-10 overall and 5-7 in BIG EAST play. Junior Laura Sweeney reached her 1,000th career point at DePaul last week and leads the squad with 14.9 points per game and 8.0 rebounds.
Georgetown is ranked No. 15 and enters the game at 19-6 overall and 8-4 in conference play. The Hoyas are led by Sugar Rodgers with 19.5 points per game and Asria Crawford with 6.1 rebounds per contest.
