Five-Game Win Streak on the Line as Villanova Hosts Butler Wednesday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will look to extend its five-game winning streak on Wednesday night when the Wildcats play host to the Butler Bulldogs. Tip-off at The Pavilion is set for 7 p.m. The Wildcats enter play 18-5 overall and 8-4 in Big East play, while the Bulldogs are 11-12 overall and 6-6 in conference action.

This will be the second meeting of the year between Villanova and Butler. On Jan. 8, the Wildcats tallied a 70-48 victory in Indianapolis. Sophomore guard Kendall Burton led the Wildcats in the win with a career-high 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting, including a 5-of-13 effort from three-point range. Senior guard Devon Kane had 11 points, while junior forward Taylor Holeman added 10 points. Butler was paced by Haley Howard with 17 points.

Dominant Second Half Leads Villanova to 70-48 Win at Butler
Villanova outscored Butler by a 42-18 margin in the second half to erase a two point halftime deficit and cruise to a 70-48 victory. With the win, the Wildcats improve to 12-2 overall and 3-1 in Big East play, while Butler falls to 7-8 on the year and 2-2 in conference action.

Wednesday night's game between Villanova and Butler will be just the second all-time meeting between the schools. The first meeting came earlier this year on Jan. 8. The Bulldogs are currently in their first season as a member of the Big East Conference.

In the last four games, Villanova has had four players score in double figures in all four contests. The latest quartet to reach double figures was Lauren Burford (15), Caroline Coyer (15), Taylor Holeman (11) and Devon Kane (11) who all netted double figures in Sunday's win at Seton Hall.



The Wildcats are led in scoring by Kane who is averaging 11.8 points per game, while Coyer is second with an 11.0 points per game average. Kane also leads the team in assists with 94 and steals with 26, while junior forward Taylor Holeman owns a team-best 5.8 rebounds per game average.
