Women's Basketball Travels to Rutgers for Saturday Matchup

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will play at Rutgers on Saturday, Feb. 2, in a key Big East game. The Wildcats enter play with a 16-4 overall record and 5-2 mark in Big East play, while the Scarlet Knights are 12-8 overall and 3-4 in league action. Tip-off at is set for 2 p.m.

The teams will be meeting for the 34th time on Saturday afternoon. Rutgers currently leads the series by a 25-8 count. The Scarlet Knights have dominated the series of late. Entering play on Saturday, Rutgers has won 10 straight over the Wildcats. Villanova's last win in the series came on Jan. 9, 2004, by a score of 53-49.

Villanova Falls to No. 18 Rutgers
The No. 18 Rutgers Scarlet Knights traveled to Villanova on Saturday, Feb. 18, where they registered a 61-52 win. With the victory, the Scarlet Knights improve to 18-8 overall and 7-6 in Big East play, while the Wildcats fall to 15-12 overall and 5-9 in conference play.

Villanova has been credited with an assist on 313 of its 438 made field goals this year for 71.4 percent. The Wildcats are currently third in the country in assist to turnover ratio at 1.39. The `Cats currently have eighth players with 20 or more assists led by Caroline Coyer and Rachel Roberts with 46.

The Wildcats are led by senior forward Laura Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (12.8 ppg.), rebounding (6.8 rpg.), field goal percentage (.530), steals (48) and blocks (38). Roberts ranks second in scoring at 10.9 points per game.
