Wildcats Look to Get Back to Winning Ways Against Syracuse

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova will host Syracuse on Saturday evening in a game between two nationally ranked teams. The Wildcats enter play ranked No. 25, while the Orange are No. 22. Villanova is 15-3 overall record and 4-1 in Big East play, while Syracuse is 16-2 overall and 4-1 in league action. Tip-off at The Pavilion is set for 6 p.m.

Saturday night's game against Syracuse is the first of two this year between the Wildcats and Orange. The 2012-13 Big East schedule calls for each school to play 12 opponents once and two teams twice. Providence and Syracuse are Villanova's repeat opponents. Villanova and Syracuse will meet again at the Carrier Dome on March 2.

Wildcats Make 14 Three's to Down Syracuse on Senior Night
Villanova celebrated Senior Night in fine fashion on Monday evening, as the Wildcats tallied a 68-60 win over the Syracuse Orange. With the win, Villanova improves to 16-13 overall and 6-10 in Big East play, while the Orange fall to 17-13 overall and 6-10 in conference action.

Villanova leads the all-time series against Syracuse by a 38-15 count. The Wildcats have had recent success versus the Orange as well. Villanova has won three of the last four meetings against Syracuse, including winning last year in the regular season finale at The Pavilion by a score of 68-60.

Villanova is led by senior forward Laura Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (13.1 ppg.), rebounding (6.7 rpg.), field goal percentage (.550), steals (46) and blocks (35). Senior guard Rachel Roberts ranks second in scoring at 10.4 points per game.
