Villanova travels to St. John’s on Sunday, Jan. 14, to take on the Red Storm in a Big East contest. The Wildcats enter play 14-2 overall and 4-2 in Big East play, while St. John’s is 11-7 on the year and 4-3 in conference action.

Sunday’s game between Villanova and the St. John’s Red Storm will be the 64th all-time meeting between the schools. Villanova leads the all-time series by a 37-26 count. Villanova has won five of the last seven against the Red Storm.

Of all the opponents Villanova has faced over the years, the Wildcats have played St. John’s the second most of any opponent at 63 times. Providence is the team that the Wildcats have played the most at 72 times.

Sophomore guard Kelly Jekot registered her team-best fifth 20-point scoring effort of the season in Friday’s win at Seton Hall. Jekot scored 21 points on 5-of-13 shooting (3-of-7 from three) and an 8-of-9 effort from the foul line. She also added five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. She is currently averaging 12.3 points per game which ranks second on the team.

The Wildcats were led in Friday night’s win at Seton Hall by the sophomore duo of  Mary Gedaka and Jekot. The pair combined to score 37 of the team’s 67 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field and an 11-of-12 effort from the foul line. Jekot had a team-high 21 points on 5-of-14 shooting (3-of-7 from three; 8-of-9 from foul line) and Gedaka tallied 16 points on a 6-of-9 shooting effort (1-of-1 from three; 3-of-3 from foul line). In addition, the tandem scored 27 of Villanova’s 50 second half points and 20 of the 29 fourth quarter points.   



Villanova is led in scoring by junior guard Adrianna Hahn who is averaging 12.4 points per game and Jekot who is averaging 12.3 points per contest. Senior forward Alex Louin has a team-best 6.1 rebounds per game average.
