Villanova travels to Seton Hall on Friday, Jan. 12, to take on the Pirates in a Big East contest. The Wildcats enter play 13-2 overall and 3-2 in Big East play, while Seton Hall is 10-7 on the year and 2-4 in conference action.
The Wildcats and Pirates will meet for the 62nd time on Friday evening. Villanova currently leads the all-time series by a 39-22 margin. Villanova has won eight of the last 12 against the Pirates.
Villanova was led in Wednesday night’s win at Georgetown by the starting guard duo of Adrianna Hahn and Kelly Jekot. The pair combined to score 31 of Villanova’s 60 points and were 11-of-21 from the field (.523) and 6-of-11 from three-point range (.545). Hahn scored a team-high 17 points on 6-of-10 shooting, including a 4-of-6 effort from behind the arc, while Jekot had 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting (2-of-5 from three).
The Wildcats are back on the road for three straight games after a brief two-game homestand. The road trip began with a 60-58 win at Georgetown on Wednesday. Villanova will now play at Seton Hall on Friday and at St. John’s on Sunday. Entering play at Seton Hall on Friday night, the Wildcats have played 11 of the first 15 games away from home and are 7-1 in true road games, 3-0 on neutral courts and 3-1 at home.
Under the direction of head coach Harry Perretta, the Villanova Wildcats have always had the reputation of playing team basketball. In the first 15 games this season, the Wildcats have an assist on 212 of 368 baskets for 57.6 percent.
Villanova is led in scoring by junior guard Adrianna Hahn who is averaging 12.7 points per game and Jekot who is averaging 11.7 points per contest. Senior guard Alex Louin has a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game average.
