VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova makes its first television appearance of the season on Saturday, Jan. 12, when the Wildcats travel to Pittsburgh. The 6 p.m. game can be seen live on Sportsnet New York, Cox Sports Television, Time Warner Cable Syracuse, ESPN Full Court Package and ESPN3. It can also be seen on tape delay on Root Sports Pittsburgh (6:30 p.m.), The Comcast Network (11 p.m.) Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (11:30 p.m.)
The Wildcats enter play with a 12-2 overall record and a 2-0 Big East mark, while Pittsburgh is 9-5 overall and 0-1 in conference action.
Villanova and Pittsburgh will be meeting for the 56th time on Saturday evening when the two teams square off. The Panthers have won six of the last eight meetings versus Villanova. However, the Wildcats have won the last two in the series, including last year's 70-62 win at The Pavilion. Villanova leads the all-time series by a 36-19 count.
The Wildcats are led by senior forward Laura Sweeney who leads the team in scoring (12.0 ppg.), rebounding (5.7 rpg.), field goal percentage (.553), steals (35) and blocks (22). Senior guard Rachel Roberts ranks second in scoring at 10.5 points per game, while freshman Caroline Coyer has a team-best 40 assists.
