Women's Basketball Travels to Butler on Wednesday

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova travels to Indianapolis, Indiana, on Wednesday, Jan. 8, to take on the Butler Bulldogs in a Big East Conference game. The Wildcats enter play 11-2 overall and 2-1 in Big East play, while Butler is 7-7 overall and 2-1 in conference action. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

When Villanova and Butler meet on Wednesday evening in Indianapolis, it will be the first ever meeting between the schools. Butler is in its first year as a member of the Big East Conference.

Wednesday night's game will mark the third time in the first four Big East Conference games that Villanova will play away from home. The Wildcats also played eight of their first 10 non conference contests on the road. Villanova is currently 6-1 in road games, 2-1 at home and 3-0 in neutral court contests.

Villanova is led in scoring by senior guard Devon Kane who is averaging 11.4 points per game. Sophomore guard Caroline Coyer is second on the team in scoring with an 11.2 points per game average. Coyer also leads the team in assists (61.) and steals (15). Junior forward Taylor Holeman and sophomore forward Kavunaa Edwards lead Villanova in rebounding with a 5.9 rebounds per game average.
