Wednesday evening's game marks the final non-conference contest of the season for the Wildcats and is also the team's final Philadelphia Big Five contest of the season. Villanova will then play 17 straight conference games during the remainder of its regular season schedule. The Wildcats are 6-6 thus far in their non-conference games and are 1-2 in Big Five contests, with a win over Penn and losses to La Salle and Temple.

Junior forward Stacie Witman reached double figures for only the second time in her career with her career-best effort. Previously, she had scored a career-high 10 points against Temple on December 21, 2004. Witman is now averaging 9.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the three contests she has played in this season.

Sophomore guard Siobhan O'Connor made her first start of the season in today's game and finished with three points, four rebounds, five assists and a steal in 36 minutes. It marked the first time this year that the Wildcats have utilized a three-guard lineup to start a game. O'Connor has been a key player for Villanova this season and is averaging 5.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.

The Wildcats are now 38-8 (.826) all-time against opponents from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, including a 3-1 mark this season. Villanova owns wins this year against Marist (69-64 ot), Fairfield (51-37) and Manhattan (62-46) and has lost to Loyola (Md.) (61-54). Since the 1994-95 season, the Wildcats have won 15 of their last 16 contests against MAAC teams.

Senior forward Jackie Adamshick needs eight more points to reach 1,200 for her career. She eclipsed the 1,000-point mark earlier this season and currently ranks 14th on the school's all-time scoring list.
