STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Rashana Barnes had a team-high 15 points and six rebounds to help No. 11 Penn State defeat Villanova 76-54 Saturday night.

Andrea Garner had 12 points and 11 rebounds, to lead five Penn State players in double figures.

Penn State (1-0) opened the game with a 23-2 run and went into halftime leading 43-19. The Lions shot 19-of-37 in the first half, while holding Villanova to 21 percent shooting from the floor.

The Wildcats could get no closer to Penn State than 17 points late in the second half.

Villanova freshman reserve Katie Davis had a a game-high 18 points.
