Senior Jackie Adamshick (Allentown, Pa.) and redshirt freshman Maria Getty (Centerville, Ohio) each made two free throws and sophomore Lisa Karcic (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) hit a three-pointer during the run. Villanova never surrendered that lead as the teams traded points the rest of the way.

The Red Foxes forced overtime after overcoming a 14-point deficit in the second half. Villanova built on an eight-point margin at halftime and stretched its lead to 36-22 after a basket by O'Connor with 16:39 left in regulation. The lead still stood at 10, 43-33, midway through the period but Marist came back with an 11-1 run in under three minutes to tie the score 44-44 with 7:03 on the clock. Villanova was just 4-of-14 for the rest of the stanza, though, and led 28-20 at halftime. Adamshick scored eight of her game-high 25 points in the first six minutes of the second half and the Wildcats were on their way to a double-digit victory before the Marist comeback.

Villanova will now travel to the FAU Tip-Off Classic during the Thanksgiving Weekend. The Wildcats face Tulane on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the tournament. Villanova will square off on Saturday against either host Florida Atlantic or North Florida.
