CHICAGO (AP) - Khara Smith scored 24 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead DePaul over Villanova 84-75 on Saturday.

DePaul (16-1, 3-1 Big East) also got 20 points and 10 rebounds from Jenna Rubino. Allie Quigley added 17 points for the Blue Demons.

Liad Suez-Karni led four Villanova players in double figures with 20 points, including four 3-pointers. Jackie Adamshick had 15 points and Jenna Viani added 14.

The Wildcats (10-5, 1-3) kept the game close in the second half before DePaul went on an 11-5 run to take a 74-69 lead with 1:45 left. Smith had seven points during the spurt.

Villanova got off to a quick start, scoring eight straight points to take an 8-2 lead, with Suez-Karni scoring five. DePaul stuck around before taking its first lead with a 10-0 run late in the first half. Smith had back-to-back baskets to trigger the run.
