The Philadelphia Big Five held its annual postseason awards banquet on Monday, April 29, at The Palestra on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to receiving the 2012-13 Big Five championship team trophy, two Wildcats earned individual honors.

Villanova University senior forward Laura Sweeney (Marlton, N.J/Cherokee High School) has been named the South Jersey College Player of the Year by the Al Carino Basketball Club. Sweeney was presented with the award at a banquet held on Wednesday, March 27, at the Crowne Plaza in Cherry Hill, N.J.

The Villanova Wildcats will make their 10th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament this weekend in Stanford, Calif. The No. 9 seeded Wildcats will take on No. 8 seed Michigan on Sunday, March 24. The game will be televised live on ESPN2. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. eastern time.
