Wildcats Sign Two Recruits
VILLANOVA, Pa Villanova University head women's basketball coach Harry Perretta, today, announced the signing of two players. Nicole Druckenmiller, a 6-0 forward, and Daniela Schroeder, a 6-0 forward, will both enroll in the fall and be members of the 1998-99 squad.
"We are very excited that Nicole and Daniela will be joining our program," said head coach Harry Perretta. "The thing I like about both of them is that they are athletic and mobile. I think that their mobility will allow them to be very good players in our system."
Druckenmiller comes to Villanova from Northampton High School in Northampton, Pa where she averaged 15.0 ppg and 10.1 rpg as a junior. An All-Mountain Valley League performer, Druckenmiller earned Honorable All-State in 1996-97. Already a 1,000-point scorer, she was a pre-season All-State selection entering the 1997-98 season.
Schroeder is a native of Salmon, Idaho where she attends Salmon High School. A four-year starter, Schroeder garnered All-Area and All-State honors as a junior.
During her junior season, Schroeder averaged 14.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 3.6 apg. 3.2 spg and 2.5 bpg. Last year, she led her team to the highest finish in Salmon High School history with a triple-double and a career-high 35 points. Schroeder was also a three-year starter on the volleyball team where she earned first team All-Conference this past season.
