Men's Cross Country To Race in Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Friday Afternoon

- Villanova competed at the Jack St. Clair Memorial Championships last Saturday, where the Wildcats received successful performances from both its team lineup and a pair of unattached runners. Villanova finished first out of six collegiate teams at the meet while having both the individual (unattached) champion and the first place team runner. Freshman Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) won the five-mile race in 26:22.85 and redshirt freshman Chris O'Sullivan (Havertown, Pa.) came in second in 26:23.34.
- In the Wildcats first scored meet of the season Villanova placed fourth out of 45 teams in the Men's Gold race at the Paul Short Run. Senior Matthew Gibney (Albury, Australia) led the squad with a 15th place finish and senior Keith Capecci (New Hope, Pa.) also garnered a top-20 spot with a 17th place finish.
- The tournament field at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational includes six of the nation's top 10 ranked teams in the USTFCCCA polls, as well as 20 of the 30 ranked squads. There are a total of 40 men's teams competing at Wisconsin on Friday.
- Villanova is one of six BIG EAST teams participating in this Friday's race, along with Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame, Providence and Syracuse.
