VILLANOVA, Pa. - Former Villanova University men's track & field standout and current Wildcat assistant coach Adrian Blincoe recorded the Olympic "A" standard in the 5000 meter run at a meet in Ostrava, Czech Republic on Wednesday, June 27. Blincoe's time of 13:17.28 easily betters the "A standard of 13:21.50 and establishes a personal best for him in the event. The time placed Blincoe 16th overall in the race.

By running the "A" standard, Blincoe puts himself into good position to run for his native New Zealand at the 2008 Olympic Games. A 2003 graduate of Villanova, Blincoe captured three NCAA titles and seven All-American honors during his Wildcat career. He currently holds the school record in the indoor 3000m, in addition to being a member of the school record holding indoor distance medley relay team. He just finished his first season as a Villanova assistant coach.
