Providence, R.I. - College Sports Television (CSTV) has agreed to broadcast via tape delay the 2006 BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held May 5-7 at the George J. Sherman - Family Sports Complex on the campus of the University of Connecticut in Storrs.

The championships will be televised on May 15 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Three-time USA Olympian and two-time bronze medalist Dwight Stones will provide play-by-play commentary for the event. Former Cincinnati middle-distance runner Lewis Johnson will be the analyst.

The BIG EAST welcomed new members to the league on July 1, 2005. Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville Marquette and USF bring a tradition of success to the conference, which is already loaded with some of the top individual and team talent in the country. The three-day event will begin at Noon ET on Friday, May 5. Saturday's events will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET, and Sunday's events will start at 11:00 a.m. ET, concluding with the awards ceremony, which is slated to start at 2:50 p.m. ET.

Last season, the Rutgers men's team won its first ever BIG EAST Championship title, and the Pittsburgh women's team won its fourth title - first since 1994.
