Philadelphia, Pa. - The Villanova men's DMR team of freshmen Sean Tully (Syosset, N.Y) and Elvis Lewis (Queens, N.Y.) and juniors Drew Eckman (Oxford, Pa.) and Bobby Curtis (Louisville, Ky.) ran a tough race but finished eighth this afternoon at Franklin Field on the second day of the Penn Relays.

Texas came in first in 9:33.10 followed by Arkansas (9:33.49) and Michigan (9:36.10) rounded out the top three.

Tully ran a 2:58.7 split in the opening 1200m leg and was one of eight runners within one second of the lead when he handed off to fellow classmate Lewis. Lewis ran an exceptional 400m leg and brought Villanova into second place. He, in turn, handed the baton to Eckman who also ran extremely well for the Wildcats during the 800m leg and took over first place. Curtis faded in the anchor leg, however, and ran a 4:05 split.

The 'Nova men return to the track tomorrow for the famed mile relay at 1:05 p.m. and the 4x800m Championship at 4:20 p.m.
