Men's Track & Field Heads to BIG EAST Championships This Weekend
Rob Denault has the fastest time in the BIG EAST in the Mile this season.

VILLANOVA, Pa. - A world-class facility is the host site for the BIG EAST Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend, as 14 women's and 13 men's teams descend on the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. The conference meet will be held on Saturday and Sunday and the entire meet will be streamed live online completely free of charge.

Fans can watch all of the action from the BIG EAST Championships at and can also visit the Championship Central page to access the live video stream, heat sheets, live results and PDFs of the final individual and team results. Live video will also be available at Events on Saturday morning begin with the men's and women's multi 60 meter dash and 60 meter hurdles. The video stream will go live approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of competition.

To this point in the indoor track & field season Villanova has competed in five different meets and qualified athletes for the conference championship in eight running events, three field events and the three relays that are part of the meet program.

Entering the conference meet the Wildcats have the fastest times in the conference in three individual events as well as the distance medley relay. Junior Sam Ellison (Dresher, Pa.) owns the top marks in the BIG EAST this season in both the 500 meters (1:01.31) and the 800 meters (1:48.62) and has won all four of his starts on the year. In addition redshirt freshman Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) has the top conference time in the Mile with a mark of 4:00.04 set at the Penn State National last month.

Last year at the conference meet the Wildcats won one individual title and one relay championship while producing All-BIG EAST performances in seven different events.
