New Balance Collegiate Invitational on Tap for Friday and Saturday

Villanova men's and women's teams will be in action at the New York Armory

Villanova will be running at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational this weekend at the New York Armory.

VILLANOVA, Pa.-- One of the headline meets of the indoor track & field season is on tap for this weekend, as the Villanova men's and women's teams will be in competition at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the New York Armory. The meet begins on Friday night with the majority of events that the Wildcats are competing in to be held on Saturday afternoon.

Live results from the meet will be available throughout the evening Friday and all day Saturday on the Armory website. In addition, a full recap of the meet will be posted at www.villanova.com on Sunday morning.

Each of the Villanova indoor teams has enjoyed an outstanding beginning to the season. The women's team has had 26 qualifiers in 14 events for the BIG EAST Championships later this month, including two NCAA provisional qualifying times in the mile. On the men's side, the Wildcats have had 24 conference qualifiers in 11 events. Both teams have also had three relay teams qualify for postseason competition.

Attending the New Balance meet will be several of the top teams in the BIG EAST and from around the nation, making the weekend a preview of things to come in the conference and national meets later in the season. Villanova will be running at the Armory for the second time this season after also competing there in the NYC Gotham Cup in January.
