Millrose Games History
Event Schedule and Results

VILLANOVA, Pa.-- On Friday night the Villanova men's indoor track & field team will be featured live on ESPN2 in the 101st Annual Millrose Games at Madison Square Garden. The Wildcats are one of the favorites in the 4x800 Meter Relay, which will begin around 7:45 p.m. The race will be shown in its entirety during a one-hour broadcast of the Games from 7:00-8:00 this evening.

The Villanova quartet for this evening's race will include senior Michael Kerrigan (Stroudsburg, Pa.), senior Mark Korich (Wyndmoor, Pa.), freshman Jason Apwah (Roxbury, N.J.) and junior Sean Tully (Syosset, N.Y.).

Hopes are high for the Wildcats entering the race, which will include a field of seven teams. The other entries are Columbia, Cornell, Georgetown, Arkansas, Seton Hall and George Mason. Earlier this season Villanova ran in the 4x800 meter relay at the Penn State Relays and posted a time of 7:39.46 which was less than one second off the winning time by a Penn State quartet. Cornell finished 11 seconds behind the Wildcats in that race, in which Korich, Apwah and Tully represented three of the four Villanova runners.

So far this season the Wildcats own the second fastest time in the 4x800 among BIG EAST schools. At last weekend's Penn State National Open, an entry from Georgetown posted a time of 7:33.89. Villanova currently has posted a time that is three seconds faster than the leading time for Seton Hall, which will race against the Wildcats in tonight's Millrose race.

All four of the individuals racing for Villanova this evening own a personal best in the 800 meters of 1:51.0 or faster. Kerrigan owns a fast time of 1:51.0 in the event and last summer posted a sub-4:00 mile for the first time in his career. Korich has a personal best of 1:50.5 and Apwah a quick time of 1:50.8 in the 800 meters, while Tully's personal best is 1:48.84.

A recap of tonight's race at the Millrose Games will be available at www.villanova.com late Friday night. In addition to tonight's event, members of both the men's and women's indoor track teams will be competing this weekend at the McElliott Meet at Haverford College. Those results will be available later in the weekend.
