Wildcats Open Indoor Track Season at Jack Pyrah Invitational

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Wildcats opened the indoor track and field season on Saturday evening hosting annual Jack Pyrah Invitational. Villanova had several athletes qualify to the BIG EAST Championships. Junior Chris Williams ran the mile in 4:18.48 to earn a conference qualifier. He finished first in the event. Freshman Curran Darling tied a meet record in the high jump clearing 2.00m to qualify to the BIG EAST Championships and finish first. Junior Robert Sainvil qualified to the BIG EAST championships in the triple jump measuring 14.10m and finished first. The 4x400m "A" relay squad was first overall. Junior Chris Kearney, senior Garrett Kroner, junior Stefan Goodridge and junior Michael Murray crossed the finish line in 3:23.66. Villanova returns to the track on Jan. 9 at the Penn State Relays.
