AUSTIN, TEXAS - On Saturday, June 12th, the Villanova track & field program had two runners competing in the finals of the 1,500m run on the last day of the 2004 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at the University of Texas in Austin. Sophomore Marina Muncan finished third in the finals of the women's 1,500m run. Senior Tom Parlapiano placed 11th in the finals of the men's 1,500m run.
Muncan crossed the finish line in a third place time of 4:13.84 - less than two seconds behind the winning time of 4:11.59 posted by Tiffany McWilliams of Mississippi. Treniere Clement of Georgetown finished second in 4:12.21.
Parlapiano registered a time of 3:48.81 to place 11th overall in the finals of the men's 1,500m run. Arkansas' Chris Mulvaney won the event with a time of 3:44.72.
