Keino Qualifies For NCAA Regional in 1500 Meters

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore distance runner Kippy Keino (Eldoret, Kenya) ran a time of 3:47.20 on Saturday at the IC4A Championship, and qualified for the NCAA East Regional later this month. Keino's time was one second under the qualifying standard, and he becomes the fifth men's track athlete to qualify for the regional meet.

In the women's ECAC Championship, Villanova runners Monique Morgan (Kingston, Jamaica) and Sherian Byam (Brooklyn, N.Y.) each qualified for Sunday's finals in the 100 meter hurdles. The pair have both already qualified for the NCAA Regional.

A full recap of Saturday's action will be available later this evening or on Sunday morning.

NOTES: The other Wildcats on the men's side to qualify for the NCAA Regional are Robert McDade (discus, shot put), Drew Eckman (400 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash), Ryan Hayden (1500 meters) and Michael Kerrigan (1500 meters) ... Nine women's athletes have qualified for the East Regional, which will be held May 27-28 and hosted by Manhattan College.
