Kane and Pickhaver Run Personal Best Times in 10000 Meters at Sam Howell Invitational
Matt Kane beat his previous top time in the 10000 meters by more than 30 seconds at the Sam Howell Invitational on Friday night.

PRINCETON, N.J. - Senior Matt Kane (Fairfield, Conn.) and junior John Pickhaver (Drexel Hill, Pa.) each ran in the 10000 meters in the Sam Howell Invitational at Weaver Stadium on Friday night. Both runners established new personal bests in the event.

Kane registered a time of 29:45.83 and finished in fourth place out of 26 runners in the field. His time was more than 30 seconds faster than his previous personal best in the 10000 meters, which was set back in 2011 at the Penn Relays.

Pickhaver came in 19th in Friday night's race and crossed the finish line in 30:52.74. His previous top time also came in 2011 and was set at the BIG EAST Championships that year. He beat his old personal best by more than 36 seconds with his race at Princeton.
