Chris Dougherty Wins Pole Vault at Widener Field Meet

CHESTER, Pa. - Several athletes from Villanova competed in a pair of events at the Widener Field Meet on Friday afternoon at the Schwartz Athletic Center, where sophomore Chris Dougherty (Cherry Hill, N.J.) registered an individual win in the pole vault.
Dougherty and freshman Charlie Kido (Nampa, Idaho) produced a 1-2 finish in the pole vault, with Dougherty clearing a height of 4.35 meters. Kido cleared 4.25 meters to come in second out of five competitors in the event.
Three other Wildcats competed in the weight throw. Junior Chris McLeod (Islip, N.Y.) came in eighth overall out of 28 entries and led the trio of Villanova athletes with a toss of 13.94 meters. Senior Billy Berrigan (Vista, Calif.) and sophomore Drew King (New Haven, Conn.) finished 10th (12.93m) and 14th (12.23m), respectively.
