On Sandifer: Young sprinter who has a wealth of potential as he continues to develop ... Gained experience last season and can run a number of different events ... Should continue to make progress during the coming year and will work to help the team during meets.
2014 Outdoor: Won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.19 and placed ninth in the 200 meters in 23.31 at the season-opening Philadelphia College Classic.
2014 Indoor: Came in second in the 60 meter hurdles at the BIG EAST Championships to earn All-BIG EAST honors ... His time of 8.62 at the conference meet was also a personal best ... During the season ran seven races in the 60 meter hurdles and one in the 300 meters ... Opened the season by finishing second in the 60 meter hurdles (8.77) and 17th in the 300 meters (37.93) at the Jack Pyrah Invitational ... Advanced to the finals of the 60 mH at the Tiger Open and came in fourth overall with a time of 8.81 in the final heat ... Had been in fifth place with a time of 9.00 following the preliminaries ... Finished in 25th place in the preliminary heats at the Gotham Cup (8.84), placed 27th in the preliminaries at the Great Dane Classic (8.67) and was 38th in the preliminaries of the College section at the Armory Collegiate Invitational (8.85).
2013 Outdoor: Ran four races in the 110 meter hurdles ... Posted identical times of 15.81 at the Widener Invitational and the Delaware Open ... Finished in third place at Widener and came in fourth at Delaware ... Registered fourth place finishes in the 110 mH at both the Philadelphia College Classic (16.15) and the Danny Curran Invitational (16.17) ... Ran the 200 meters at the Danny Curran meet and finished in 31st place with a time of 23.94.
2013 Indoor: Made his collegiate debut at the Jack Pyrah Invitational, where he competed in the 60 meter hurdles and the 300 meters ... Came in third in the hurdles (8.83) and was 16th in the 300 meters (37.69) ... Ran the 60 meter hurdles at three other meets during the season ... Top time was 8.79 at the New York City Gotham Cup, where he placed 25th out of 55 runners in the preliminary heats ... Came in 23rd in the preliminaries at the Great Dane Classic (8.84) and was 29th at the Penn State National (8.90).
AAU Athletic Honors: Competed for the Charlotte Heat AAU track & field program during his junior and senior years of high school and was a member of the USA Track & Field Quicksilver team as a high school sophomore ... His Charlotte Heat team was named the number one track club in the state of North Carolina both years he was on the team ... AAU Young Men state champion in the 110 meter hurdles as both a junior and a senior, as well as the 400 meter hurdles state champion as a junior ... As a senior was the Young Men Charlotte Flight Developmental champion and the Young Men HP Panthers-Ken Roberts Classic Champion in the 110 meter hurdles.
Hickory Ridge High School: Earned four varsity letters in both cross country and track ... Team captain as a senior and was the captain of the hurdles group from his sophomore through senior seasons ... As a senior came was the team MVP and came in fourth in the 55 meter hurdles at the NCSHAA Indoor Track & Field State Championships ... Earned all-state honors for that finish and was also the Cabarrus County Indoor Athlete of the Year ... School record holder in the 55 meter hurdles, 110 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles ... During the outdoor season as a senior was an all-region, all-county and all-conference performer in the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles ... Came in third in the 110 meter hurdles and fifth in the 300 meter hurdles at the outdoor state championships ... Also received all-conference, all-county and all-region honors in the 110 and 300 hurdles as a junior ... Named to the All-South Piedmont Conference third team as a freshman and second team as a sophomore ... As a freshman was the youngest record holder in the 110 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles and was also the youngest qualifier for the cross country regional meet ... Member of the National Arts Honor Society and was inducted into the Price Water House Accounting Firm Impact Program ... Participated in the White House Initiative Program and was both a secretary and the president for Future Business Leaders of America ... Active with Fellowship Christian Athletes.
Personal: Born 6/9/94 ... Only child of Reginald and Lorene Sandifer ... Enjoys karate, tae kwon do and martial arts and founded the Martial Arts Club at his high school ... Is a third degree black belt in karate and first degree black belt in tae kwon do ... Also enjoys bowling and chess ... Has yet to declare a major.
