Lampron and Maxwell Win Events at Jack Pyrah Invitational
Sophomore Josh Lampron (Mansfield, Mass.) and senior Elbert Maxwell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) won their respective events and Villanova opened the season in successful fashion at the Jack Pyrah Invitational on Saturday afternoon. This is the 12th consecutive year that the Wildcats have hosted the local meet at Alumni Gym on the Haverford campus. The meet is named in memory of the longtime Villanova assistant coach.
Indoor Track Opens Season at Jack Pyrah Invitational Saturday
The indoor track & field season will officially get underway this weekend when Villanova hosts the annual Jack Pyrah Invitational on Saturday, December 6th. 10 local teams will be in competition at the meet which is set to take place at Alumni Field House on the Haverford College campus.

Men's Track & Field Has Five Athletes Named to USTFCCCA All-Academic Team
Five student-athletes from Villanova have been named to the national All-Academic Team announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The trio of senior Samuel Ellison (Dresher, Pa.) and juniors Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) and Sam McEntee (Perth, Australia) each earned their third straight selection to the All-Academic Team, while graduate student Mile Palmisano (Dresher, Pa.) and freshman Patrick Tiernan (Toowoomba, Australia) earned the honor for the first time.
Villanova Leads BIG EAST with Four Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award Winners
In the annual announcement of Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence award winners, Villanova had a BIG EAST best four selections. The awards are presented annually by the conference for the purpose of recognizing student-athletes for academic and athletic achievements as well as community service. Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Awards are presented to one student-athlete in each of 21 sports sponsored by the conference.

Jordy Williamsz and Patrick Tiernan Named First Team All-Americans
Sophomore Jordy Williamsz (Perth, Australia) and freshman Patrick Tiernan (Toowoomba, Australia) were each recognized as first team All-Americans in an announcement made by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday afternoon. Villanova received a total of four All-America honors for the outdoor season, with senior Samuel Ellison (Dresher, Pa.) and junior Elbert Maxwell (Pittsburgh, Pa.) also earning honorable mention All-America distinction. All four athletes competed for the Wildcats at the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. last week.
