Josh Lampron Wins 1500 Meters at Danny Curran Invitational
In frigid conditions at the Danny Curran Invitational on Saturday afternoon, Villanova had athletes competing in a total of five events at Leslie C. Quick, Jr. Stadium. Two days of competition at the local meet concluded with Saturday's events, including three running events and two field events that the Wildcats entered.
Former Wildcats Brown and Pelerin Inducted to South Jersey Track Coaches Hall of Fame
At its 11th annual Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Sunday evening, the South Jersey Track Coaches Association inducted former Villanova athletes and BIG EAST champions Mike Brown and Marc Pelerin into the South Jersey Track & Field Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place at Lucien's Manor in Berlin, N.J. and there were a total of 11 inductees.
Men's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season with Strong Results at Philadelphia College Classic
In its first meet of the outdoor track & Field season, Villanova had a successful day of competition in the Philadelphia College Classic on Saturday afternoon. A total of 17 athletes competed in three running and eight field events at Franklin Field, with a pair of first-place finishes among the storylines for the meet.
Williamsz Runs Incredible Anchor Leg as Wildcats Place Fifth in Distance Medley Relay
Over the final 1600 meters of the distance medley relay at the NCAA Championships, junior Jordy Williamsz (Melbourne, Australia) produced a split that was two seconds faster than any other anchor in the race and led Villanova to a fifth place finish at Randal Tyson Track on Friday night. Williamsz was officially clocked in 3:55.46 for the final leg of the DMR and he made up a great deal of ground to enable the Wildcats to finish in the top eight overall.

An indoor season that has already been a highly successful one for Villanova will be featured on a national stage at the NCAA Championships this weekend. The national meet takes place at Randal Tyson Track in Fayetteville, Ark. on Friday and Saturday, with each night's competition airing live on ESPN3. Junior Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) will compete in the Mile for the Wildcats, who also have title aspirations in the distance medley relay.
Wildcats Earn All-BIG EAST Honors In 15 Different Events
The listing of All-BIG EAST honors from last week's conference championships was announced on Friday morning and Villanova had a total of 27 selections from 15 different events. The top three finishers in each of the 20 different events that make up the BIG EAST Championships garner all-conference accolades. The selections for the Wildcats represent new program records for most all-conference honors and most events with all-conference performances in a single year.
Rob Denault and Distance Medley Relay Squad Selected for NCAA Championships
The selected entries for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships have been announced and Villanova is qualified for the national meet in the distance medley relay for the eighth straight year. In addition to the relay, junior distance runner Rob Denault (Aurora, Ont.) was selected individually to compete in the Mile for the second time in his career. The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held on March 13-14 at Randal Tyson Track in Fayetteville, Ark.
