Villanova competed on the first night of the BIG EAST Championships on February 28, 2015 at the New York Armory.
On Maxwell: Comes off a breakthrough junior season in which he reached the NCAA Championships for the first time and was a BIG EAST champion both indoors and outdoors in the long jump ... Now ranks among the top performers in school history in both the long jump and the high jump ... Poised for another big year and should continue to be a key contributor for the Wildcats at the BIG EAST and national levels ... A veteran presence and a leader among the Wildcats group of jumpers.
2014-15 Indoor: Single-handedly accounted for 25.5 team points at the BIG EAST Championships to help Villanova successfully defend its team title at the conference meet ... Individual champion in both the long jump and the triple jump ... Won the long jump for the second straight year and won the triple jump despite competing in the event for the first time as a collegian ... Also tied for third in the high jump and earned All-BIG EAST honors in each of the three jumps ... Registered a winning mark of 7.43 meters in the long jump, and the distance was the third-longest indoors of his career ... Produced a winning mark of 14.30 meters in the triple jump ... Cleared a height of 2.00 meters in the high jump ... Prior to the conference meet his top distance of the season was a conference-best 7.38 meters at the Gotham Cup, where he notched a third place finish ... Came in first in the long jump at the season-opening Jack Pyrah Invitational (7.22m) and was fourth at both the Akron Pole Vault Convention (7.34m) and the Penn State National (7.26m) ... Finished eighth at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (7.01m) ... Recorded the top indoor high jump mark of his career at the Metro Team Challenge with a height of 2.09 meters ... Tallied a first place finish at that meet, was third at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational (2.05m), tied for seventh at the Penn State National (2.03m) and was tied for 14th place at the Gotham Cup (1.94m).
2014 Outdoor: Earned honorable mention All-America honors in the long jump ... Qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career as part of a breakthrough season ... Also was the BIG EAST champion in the long jump ... Came in 11th in his flight and 21st overall at the national meet with a mark of 6.99 meters ... Finished two spots ahead of where he was ranked entering the NCAA Championships ... Earned his spot at the national meet by finishing 11th overall at the NCAA East Preliminary, where his jump of 7.52 meters was a personal best and ranked among the top marks in school history ... The jump of 7.52 meters came on his second attempt in the first round and was the top mark recorded in either of the first two flights (out of four) during the first round ... Won the BIG EAST title with a distance of 7.12 meters ... Became the fifth Villanova outdoor long jump champion and the first since Jermaine Deans in 1998 ... Also was an All-BIG EAST performer in the high jump with a height of 2.04 meters and a third place finish at the conference meet ... 2013-14 Indoor: Became the first Villanova athlete to be a BIG EAST champion in the long jump ... Also earned All-BIG EAST honors in the high jump at the conference championships ... Won the long jump with a personal best mark of 7.46 meters ... Tied for third in the high jump and cleared a height of 2.00 meters ... Followed up his effort at the conference meet by winning the long jump with a distance of 7.45 meters at the Mason Last Chance Meet ... During the season came in third in the long jump at both the season-opening Jack Pyrah Invitational (6.52m) and the Tiger Open (7.01m) ... Registered a mark of 7.07 meters and finished seventh at the Gotham Cup ... Placed 14th at the Penn State National (6.98m) and came in 25th in the College section at the Armory Collegiate Invitational (6.84m) ... Cleared a season-best height of 2.01 meters in the high jump at the Armory Collegiate meet and tied for ninth place in the College section ... Came in 11th in the high jump at the Penn State National (1.96m) and was 15th at the Great Dane Classic (1.89m).
2013 Outdoor: Competed four times in the long jump and once in the high jump ... Had a season-best distance of 6.99 meters in the long jump at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational, where he came in third out of 20 competitors ... Also took fourth place in the high jump (1.98 meters) at the Hurricane Alumni meet ... Finished in fourth place in the long jump at the Danny Curran Invitational (6.20m), placed seventh at the Colonial Relays (6.91m) and was 12th at the Larry Ellis Invitational (6.53m).
2012-13 Indoor: Competed in the long jump at the BIG EAST Championships and came in 15th with a distance of 6.72 meters ... Had a season-best mark and was the runner-up at the Jack Pyrah Invitational with a jump of 7.05 meters ... Came in sixth at the New York City Gotham Cup (6.80m).
2012 Outdoor: Advanced to the NCAA East Regional in the long jump after scoring team points with a fourth place finish at the BIG EAST Championships ... Cleared a career best height of 7.39 meters at the BIG EAST meet, placed 11th at the IC4A Championship (7.28m) and had a jump of 6.95 meters at the East Regional meet ... Recorded jumps of 7.00 meters or longer in six of his eight meets in the event ... Also tied for fourth place in the high jump (2.04m) at the BIG EAST Championships and during the season recorded a personal best height of 2.10 meters in a third place finish at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational ... Won the long jump at the Danny Curran Invitational (6.66m) and the Widener Invitational (7.22m), placed third at the Colonial Realys (7.24m), seventh at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational (7.00m) and sixth in the Eastern section at the Penn Relays (7.05m) ... Tied for fourth place in the high jump (1.93m) at the Big Five Invite, finished fifth at the Colonial Relays (2.01m) and tied for sixth place at the IC4A meet (2.07m).
2011-12 Indoor: Qualified for the BIG EAST Championships in both the long jump and the high jump ... Placed 10th in the long jump (6.80m) and tied for 12th place in the high jump (1.94m) at the conference meet ... Made his collegiate debut at the Jack Pyrah Invitational and was the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 7.23 meters, surpassing the previous meet record in the process ... Came in eighth at both the NYC Gotham Cup (6.78m) and the Penn State National (6.95m), was 17th at the Great Dane Classic (6.58m) and finished sixth in his flight (6.93m) at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational ... Tied for 20th place in the high jump (1.91m) at the Great Dane Classic in his first collegiate competition in the event ... Tied for 14th place at the Penn State meet (1.95m) and came in second in the Eastern section at the New Balance meet with a season-best height of 2.07 meters.
