Wildcats continued season with steady performances at Armory on Friday afternoon
Villanova finished strong and earned a second place finish in the distance medley relay at the Penn Relays on April 25.
On Dougherty: Consistent performer in the pole vault who has been a BIG EAST qualifier ... Has shown steady progress during his career ... Will look to help the team in meets this season.
2014 Outdoor: Opened the season with a runner-up finish in the pole vault at the Danny Curran Invitational, where he cleared a height of 4.50 meters.
2014 Indoor: Enjoyed a phenomenal campaign in the pole vault and was the runner-up at the BIG EAST Championships, where he cleared a height of 4.60 meters ... Also competed for the first time in the triple jump at the conference meet and came in 11th with a distance of 11.74 meters ... Set a personal best with a mark of 4.80 meters at the Great Dane Classic and matched that effort later in the year at the Mason Last Chance Meet ... Tied for third place at the Great Dane Classic and came in sixth at the Mason meet ... Opened the season with a second place finish at the Jack Pyrah Invitational (4.40m) ... Finished in fourth place at the Tiger Open (4.65m) and came in seventh at the Gotham Cup (4.45m) ... Tied for eighth place in the Invitational section of the Penn State National (4.51m) and was tied for 18th place in the College section at the Armory Collegiate Invitational (4.40m).
2013 Outdoor: Competed in each of the first three meets of the season ... Matched his personal best by clearing a height of 4.50 meters at the Colonial Relays, where he tied for 10th place out of 29 competitors ... Came in second at the season-opening Philadelphia College Classic (4.40m) and third at the Danny Curran Invitational (4.25m).
2013 Indoor: Came in 13th at the BIG EAST Championships, where he matched his personal best mark of 4.50 meters ... Finished in 13th place at the New York City Gotham Cup by clearing a height of 4.40 meters.
2012 Outdoor: Tied for sixth place at the Danny Curran Invitational, clearing a height of 4.20 meters.
2012 Indoor: Returned to the BIG EAST Championships for the second straight year and came in 11th at the conference meet with a height of 4.20 meters ... Established a personal best height of 4.50 meters at the NYC Gotham Cup and matched it at the Great Dane Classic ... Tied for fifth place at the NYC Gotham Cop and finished eighth at the Great Dane Classic ... Scored victories at the season-opening Jack Pyrah Invitational (4.40m) and the Widener Field Meet (4.35m).
2011 Outdoor: Matched his personal best height of 4.45 meters at the Colonial Relays, good for a sixth place finish ... Came in fourth at the Widener Invitational and tied for eighth place at the Mason Spring Invite.
2011 Indoor: Qualified for the BIG EAST Championships and came in 10th at the meet with a height of 4.35 meters ... Earned his spot at the conference championships with a season-best mark of 4.40 meters at the Widener Field Meet, where he was the runner-up ... Also finished second in his collegiate debut at the Delaware Invitational.
St. Joseph's Prep: School record holder in the pole vault both indoors and outdoors ... Captured the 2009 outdoor District 12 championship and the 2010 Philadelphia Catholic League title ... Placed seventh in the PIAA state meet in 2009 and eighth in 2010.
