TAMPA, Fla. - No. 8 Villanova and No. 9 Connecticut met in the men's tournament play-in game, with the Wildcats defeating the Huskies 4-2. VU got on the board first, scoring the doubles point with victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches.

The Wildcats needed three singles victories to move in to tournament play. Shaheen sealed the victory for the team with a come-from-behind, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-1 win over Marcus.

VU returns to action April 18 and meets No. 1 Notre Dame at 9 a.m. at the USF P.E. Courts.
