Wildcats Rally to Defeat Blue Hens 5-2

Villanova, Pa. - The Men's tennis team remained undefeated on the 2001-02 season defeating the visiting Delaware Blue Hens, 5-2, in a non-league match-up played on Tuesday afternoon. After dropping their first two singles matches, the 'Cats rallied behind junior Ryan Devine who was victorious at the third singles position and improved his individual overall record to 9-1. Also picking up singles victories for the Wildcats were Andy Herron, Aaron Kuzsa and John Toppel. Kuzsa, seeing action at the fourth post, rallied to defeat the Blue Hen's Dustin Lewis, 5-7, 6-0, 7-6 and remained undefeated on the year, improving his record to 6-0. Herron recorded a straight set victory over Ari Zweig and Toppel tallied his seventh win on the year winning in straight sets. In doubles action, Brad Adams and Devine paired up to defeat Delaware's John Tully and Jason Rabinowitz, 8-5, at the top doubles spot. With the victory, the two improve their overall record to 4-1. Senior A.J. Rohde and freshman Ricardo Baraldi were victorious as well for the 'Cats winning by an identical score.
With the victory, Villanova improves their record to 3-0 on the season while Delaware drops to 2-1.
