Men's Tennis Drops First Match to Delaware

NEWARK, Del.-The Villanova men's tennis squad dropped their first match of the season to Delaware Friday afternoon at the Delaware Field House Courts. Delaware (1-0) posted a 6-1 victory over the Wildcats (2-1) in their dual meet opener. The Blue Hens were victorious in five of six singles matches, as well as two of three doubles. Ricardo Baraldi came away with the 'Cats only singles win, defeating Adam Liebman, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles. Angel Rubio and Charlie Farmer came away with an 8-4 victory over Jon Schwartz and Sammy Carl at No. 3 doubles. The loss to Delware was the last match for the Wildcats until they open up their spring season on January 29 against the Navy in Annapolis, Md. Villanova at Delaware: Singles: 1. John Tully def. Aaron Kusza, 6-2, 6-2. Doubles: 1. Carl-Hanschman def. Kusza-Chimerakis, 9-7.
