Villanova opens play at Brown Invitational

Villanova Men’s Tennis concluded day one of the Brown Invitational on Friday. Three doubles teams and three individuals won their matches today as they will remain in the main draw.

Flight one featured the doubles team of Tyler Roth and Thomas Dodson. They were edged by Brown in both singles and doubles. Roth and Dodson will begin play in the consolation draw tomorrow.

The Wildcats picked two doubles wins in flight two. Will Elmore and Tommy Mulfur along with Stefan Suarez and Mike Czlonka both won their respective doubles matches. Mulfur and Suarez also picked up wins in their singles matches.  

In the last flight of the day, Alastair Hurry and Matt Phelps faced Colgate. In their doubles match they were able to edge the competition, 7-5. Phelps topped Colgate in his singles match while Hurry came up short.

Men’s Tennis will resume play Saturday morning Sept. 30 for day two of the Brown Invitational.
