PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - After competing in three tournaments during the past three weekends, Villanova (1-0) opened the dual portion of its schedule with a 7-0 win over La Salle (2-2) on Thursday afternoon at the Belfield Courts. The Wildcats claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three matches before going on to sweep all six singles matches in straight sets.

Leading the way for Villanova was junior Scott Fahrendorf (Reno, Nev.), who claimed wins at first doubles and second singles to be the team's only double winner. He teamed with classmate Charlie Farmer (Newport Beach, Calif.) for an 8-1 win at the top doubles slot and defeated Scott Karwowski by scores of 6-0 and 6-2.

Villanova's next dual match is on Saturday at 1 p.m. against Fordam.
