Sept. 16, 2002

Towson, Md. --- On Friday and Saturday, Sept. 13 and 14, the Villanova men's tennis team competed in the Tiger Fall Classic at the Towson Center Courts on the campus of Towson Univeristy. The Wildcats defeated Bucknell, Delaware and Monmouth while dropping a close match to St. Joseph's, 3-2. The Wildcats three victories came in 5-0 sweeps.

On the weekend, rookie Carl Fenzl was perfect registering a 3-0 record at third and fourth singles. Seniors Brad Adams and Ryan Devine and sophomore Aaron Kusza posted a 2-1 record for two days while Ricardo Baraldi, Justin Goulet, Lucas Kaster and John Toppel all went 1-0.

In doubles play, Kaster and Baraldi teamed up at the top spot beating both their Delaware and St. Joseph's opponents in three sets. Kaster and Devine defeated Bucknell's Jacobs and Denefro in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3.

The Wildcats will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 17 when they host Millersville at the Villanova West Campus Tennis Complex.
