Men's Tennis Opens Season at Swarthmore Invitational

Swarthmore, Pa.-The Men's tennis team kicked off their 2004-2005 season at the Swarthmore Invitational over the weekend, in which the Wildcats competed in singles and doubles play with Swarthmore and St. Joseph's.
Senior Ricardo Baraldi split his Fight A singles matches, going 1-1 over the weekend. Senior Sean Gallagher also split his Flight C singles matches, while Freshmen Jorge Rodriguez and Dimitri Chimerakis each went 1-1 in their weekend singles action.
Freshman Tony Soruco had a very successful weekend in D Singles action. He went 3-0 on the weekend, including a win in the D Singles Final over Rahul D'Silva of Swarthmore.
In doubles action, Ricardo Baraldi and Jorge Rodreguez won their A Doubles match. Aaron Kusza and Dimitri Chimerakis, who also won their A Doubles match, found themselves competing in the A Doubles Final, but fell to Francisco Velazquez and A.J. Garabedian of St. Joseph's. Scott Fahrendorf and Tony Sorcuo won their B Doubles match and also fell in the finals to St. Joe's players Michael Portonova and Chris Spencer.
The team returns to action this weekend when they compete in the Bloomsburg Invitational.
