Villanova Falls to Georgetown, 6-1

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Villanova men's tennis team (4-16, 0-2 BIG EAST) falls to Georgetown (8-12, 1-1 BIG EAST) in its regular season finale by a final score of 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at the McDonough Outdoor Tennis Complex.
After a strong finish late in the year with all four wins coming after March 23, the Wildcats finish the regular season with a 4-16 overall record and 0-2 in conference.
Tim Abbracciamento (Robbinsville, N.J.) joined Bradley Noyes (Marblehead, Mass.) to knock off Casey Distaso and Daniel Khanin 8-3 at the No. 2 slot and tie the doubles series with one match remaining.
Georgetown clinched the match with five triumphs in six singles contests.
Michael Rosengren (Sharon, Mass.) earned the only point of the afternoon when he downed John Brosens 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.
The Wildcats will travel to Fairfield on Tuesday to play their last regular season match before the BIG EAST Championship gets going on Thursday, April 24.
