Men's Tennis Defeats Georgetown

WASHINGTON - Two matches in a row were washed out by rain this past week; however the Wildcats proved to be a ray of sunshine in Washington, D.C. with a defeat over the Georgetown Hoyas 5-2 on Saturday, April 11. The men's tennis team improved their record to 15-5 on the season with the recent victory. There are only three more regular season matches for the Wildcats before they travel to Miami, Fla. for the Big East Tennis Championships on April 23-26. Senior Rich Young got the first victory of the day against Kevin Levy in No.1 singles, by the scores of 6-2 and 6-4. Fellow senior Rob Campbell was next up to defeat Dave Boyer in No.2 singles with scores of 5-7, 6-3, and 6-1. Campbell improved his overall record to 14-5 on the season. Freshman Paul Moore and junior Mike Mock also won straight sets against their Georgetown opponents.
