Villanova, Pa. - After dropping a match to Big East opponent St. John's last week, Villanova secured two wins in two days to improve to 5-10 for the season. The Wildcats defeated Quinnipiac 5-2 and continued their winning ways sweeping Sacred Heart today 7-0.

Villanova traveled to Hamden, Conn. to battle the Bobcats in a non-conference match on Monday. The Wildcats sealed the doubles point early with victories in all three spots. With junior Sean Daly and sophomore Brian Maher clinching the first and second singles spots respectively, Villanova extended its lead to 3-0 before dropping two points to Quinnipiac. However, the Wildcats rallied to take the final two points to secure a 5-2 over the Bobcats.

Villanova carried the momentum from Monday's win into today's match against Sacred Heart to sweep the Pioneers 7-0. The Wildcats not only swept all three doubles spots, but also posted convincing wins in all six singles spots. Junior Dimitri Chimerakis and sophomore Brian Maher led the way for the Wildcats with both of them receiving victories in their respective doubles and singles matches.

Villanova stays on the Main Line this week as they host UMBC on Thursday, April 12 at 3:00 p.m. at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
