VILLANOVA, Pa. --- In a cross-town battle, the Villanova men's tennis team emerged victorious over non-conference rival St. Joseph's, 5-2, in a game played Sunday, April 7 at Villanova. The win improves the Wildcats to 8-7 on the season while the Hawks fall to 5-11 overall.

In singles action, junior Ryan Devine and Aaron Kusza picked up wins ath the third and fourth spots, respectively. Freshmen Ricardo Baraldi, playing at the No. 5 spot, defeated Pat Mullaney 6-2, 6-2 while Sean Gallagher dropped one game in his 6-0, 6-1 win at sixth singles.

The 'Cats took two of three doubles matches from the Hawks led by Rohde and Kusza at second doubles. John Toppel and Justin Goulet were also victorious with an 8-3 tally at the third spot.

Villanova will return this Tuesday, April 9, when they play host to Drexel University at 3:00 p.m.
