Men's Tennis Defeats Lafayette For Fourth Straight Win

EASTON, Pa. --- The Villanova men's tennis team kept their winning streak alive at four as they defeated non-conference foe Lafayette 5-2. Four different Villanova players were victorious in singles action for Villanova as they improve their overall season record to 7-6. Lafayette falls to 10-3 on the year with the loss. In singles action, junior Ryan Devine led the 'Cats at third singles to gain the victory while freshman Aaron Kusza surrendered just two games in his 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 4 spot. Andy Herron and Ricardo Baraldi were also victorious for Villanova at the fifth and sixth spots, respectively. The Wildcats took home two of the three doubles matches played on the afternoon. Devine and fellow classmate Brad Adams teamed up at first doubles to defeat Matt Coin and H'Cone Thompson 9-8 (6) while Rohde and Kusza were victorious at third doubles by an 8-1 score. The Wildcats will return this weekend, April 6 and 7, when they play host to Big East rival Boston College on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and St. Joseph's on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
